Two Approaches… One Method

We always start with the vineyard.

More than fifty years of observation, experimentation and practical vineyard experience have led to the development of CousiFertyl® and CousiFolia®, two complementary approaches: one focuses on soil balance and function, the other on vine physiology, according to the vine's stage of development and the conditions of each vintage.

CousiFertyl® — THE SOIL

Building and preserving soil balance. Tailored to each plot, for the long term.

Every vineyard plot has its own balance. Based on an agronomic assessment, our approach considers the characteristics of the soil and subsoil, mineral balances, organic matter, biological activity and vine planting material together.

Whether at planting or in an established vineyard, interventions are assessed and planned for each plot to support soil function over the long term and allow vines to express their full potential.

CousiFolia® — THE VINE AND THE VINTAGE

Supporting the vine in step with its cycle.

Growth, flowering and fruit set, berry development, the evolution of the different types of ripeness and reserve accumulation: the vine's nutritional requirements and physiological balance change throughout its growing cycle and vary according to grape variety, plot characteristics and vintage conditions.

The foliar strategy draws on advanced formulations based on vine physiology and adapted to the vine's phenological stage, grape variety, field observations and the winegrower's objectives, with the aim of promoting grape quality.

A recommendation before a product

CousiFertyl® and CousiFolia® are tools within the Méthode Cousinié®. They are never its starting point.

Recommendations begin with the vineyard, how it functions and what it needs.

Solutions follow only when necessary.
